Hidden In Plain Sight (HIPS)

The mission of Waukesha County Drug Free Communities (DFC) is to prevent teen drug and alcohol use. The idea of having a display to show parents the warning signs of early drug abuse has long been discussed at various committee meetings. In 2015 a window space in downtown Waukesha was available through the landlords and the Media Committee recreated a teenagers bedroom as a window display.

DFC Waukesha partnered with Your Choice, an alcohol and drug awareness program for youth, to create signs and handouts illustrating the warning signs for a variety of substances: tobacco, marijuana, prescription medication and narcotics, alcohol and some general warning signs.
